Instructions for Online Running Gait Assessment

​

Equipment needed:

​

  • 1 x phone/tablet with camera facilities

  • 1 x treadmill

  • 1 x tape measure

  • 1 x tripod/person to film you

​

Instructions: 

 

  • Run 5-10mins on a treadmill 

  • Set the treadmill speed to either 10km/h, 12km/h, 14km/h or 16km/h – whichever is the most comfortable for your running style

  • Film for 30 seconds from 2 metres from the back of the treadmill 

  • Film for 30 seconds from 2 metres from the side of the treadmill

  • Film for 30 seconds from 2 metres from the other side of the treadmill

  • Complete the questionnaire via this link 

  • Upload your video via using the form below

  • Your results will be emailed back to you via the email address supplied

Important information:


We kindly request that you wear tight fitting shorts eg. Cycling Shorts and Sports Bra for ladies please in order to complete a detailed running assessment.  

Men will be required to do the treadmill analysis without a top on.


Please wear your current running trainers and any insoles that you currently wear in these.  Please also take any medication that you would require to complete a 12 minute treadmill running session.


Please ensure that your videos provide a clear, unobstructed view of the runner.  We require the whole body from head to foot to be visible on the video footage in order to complete a full assessment.
